Start with the three price points
Samsung's UK launch RRPs for 256GB are £1,149 for Flip8, £1,699 for Fold8 and £1,899 for Fold8 Ultra, including VAT. Fold8 is £550 above Flip8. Ultra is £200 above Fold8 and £750 above Flip8.
For ten devices, the Fold8-to-Ultra decision adds £2,000 in handset reference cost. A Flip-to-Fold decision adds £5,500. Actual supplier prices, repair packages and network contracts may differ from these published reference figures.
Flip8 is about the folded footprint
Flip8 opens to a 6.9-inch main display and has a 4.1-inch cover display. At 180g, it is the lightest of these three. Its appeal is carrying a smaller folded device and using the cover screen or hands-free camera positions for selected tasks.
It is not the same type of document workspace as a Fold. If your aim is reading a larger spreadsheet while referring to another app, test the Fold models instead. If your aim is a phone that is easier to carry, include a conventional S26 in the comparison too.
Fold8 versus Fold8 Ultra: what the £200 buys
Fold8 has a 7.6-inch inner screen and 5.5-inch cover screen at 201g. Ultra increases those displays to 8.0 and 6.5 inches at 215g. Both use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.
Ultra also changes the camera package: Samsung lists a 200MP main camera and a dedicated 3x telephoto camera, while the standard Fold8 has a 50MP main camera and no dedicated telephoto in its listed rear dual-camera system. More pixels alone do not establish better business photographs; test the required subject, light and framing.
The quoted typical battery capacities are 4,800mAh for Fold8 and 5,000mAh for Ultra. Treat these as specifications, not a promised runtime advantage.
Which business work makes a Fold useful?
Try an employee's normal CRM record alongside an email, a site drawing beside an annotation task, and the same spreadsheet on a conventional phone. Check whether the app presents useful information or merely stretches the existing layout.
Record the steps saved and any new frustrations: keyboard placement, sign-in transitions, opening the device while standing, and readability in the work environment. Screen shape and app support matter alongside diagonal size.
The repair plan belongs in the comparison
Confirm case availability, damage cover, excesses, turnaround and temporary replacement arrangements. Ask whether the exact model and edition support the intended enrolment process.
Samsung lists Enterprise Edition options for Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra. Confirm the UK package and conditions with the supplier rather than assuming every retail unit includes the same services.
