If you can’t scan the QR code (e.g. it’s on the same phone, or the camera won’t focus), you can activate your eSIM by entering the details manually. Your provider will give you two pieces of information:

On iPhone

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM
  2. Tap Use QR Code
  3. At the bottom, tap Enter Details Manually
  4. Paste the SM-DP+ Address into the first field
  5. Paste the Activation Code into the second field
  6. Tap Next, then Add Mobile Plan
  7. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off

On Samsung Galaxy

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM
  2. Tap Scan QR code from service provider
  3. Tap Enter activation code at the bottom
  4. Paste the full activation string (SM-DP+ address + code)
  5. Tap Connect and wait for download
  6. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off

On Google Pixel

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > + Add
  2. Tap Download a SIM instead?
  3. Tap Need help? or Enter it manually
  4. Enter the activation code
  5. Follow the prompts and toggle Airplane Mode
Tip: Some providers send the SM-DP+ address and activation code as a single combined string starting with LPA:1$. If so, paste the entire string into the activation code field.
Important: Activation codes are single-use. If you get an error saying the code is no longer valid, see our troubleshooting guide or contact your provider for a new code.
