iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max for Business: UK Guide

Last checked: 8 September 2026

The iPhone 17 Pro range should be a role-based choice for a business. Compare it when the employee has a clear need for the display, camera or storage options; do not assume every team member benefits from the Pro name.

Confirmed models

Apple lists the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max with A19 Pro. The Pro has a 6.3-inch display and the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. Both use Apple's Pro camera system. Confirm the storage, finish and UK configuration on the supplier's quote.

Choose the size around the work

A larger screen can be useful for reviewing documents, photographs or a schedule. Test it with the employee's preferred text size, the intended case and the mount they use. The Max may be a useful choice for one role while another employee finds the smaller Pro easier to carry.

For staff producing customer-facing photographs or video, try the real workflow from capture through editing, upload and storage. The camera is useful only if its output improves the deliverable or reduces work elsewhere. Include storage and file-transfer requirements in the evaluation.

Compare against the standard iPhones

Use the current iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e as the baseline for calls, messaging and ordinary business applications. If those meet the role, the remaining Pro premium needs a clear reason. Compare iPhone Air separately when lower handset weight is the priority and an eSIM-only process is acceptable.

A rollout needs more than the phone

Confirm the supplier's Apple Business Manager assignment route and the organisation's MDM setup. Test managed applications, authentication, data transfer and account recovery before dispatching devices to a team.

Choose a repair and replacement process that matches the consequences of downtime. Ask what the warranty or accidental-damage cover includes, whether a loan handset is available and how a replacement line is restored. Record device identifiers when each phone is issued.

Compare written quotes

Ask for the same storage, contract length, data allowance and VAT basis. Include upfront payments, monthly charges, contractual annual changes, accessories and repair cover. Manufacturer retail prices and business airtime contracts are different comparisons, so use the confirmed total for your intended term.

Check stock and delivery before choosing a transfer date. A handset guide cannot guarantee that a specific colour or capacity is available from a supplier today.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Pro Max always the best business iPhone?

No. The larger format is useful only if it suits the work and the person carrying it. Compare the smaller Pro and standard iPhones in a pilot.

What are the display sizes?

Apple lists 6.3 inches for iPhone 17 Pro and 6.9 inches for Pro Max, measured diagonally; actual viewable area is less.

Can I compare both models in a team quote?

Yes. Specify the number of each model, required storage, renewal dates and coverage locations so availability and costs can be checked.
