Call Forwarding Codes UK: Set, Check and Cancel

Last checked: 8 September 2026

Call forwarding sends incoming mobile calls to another number. Choose whether to divert every call or only calls that are busy, unanswered or unreachable. Start by checking the current setting and the destination.

Mobile call-divert code reference

These are standard MMI forms, not a promise that every EE, O2, Vodafone, Three or virtual-network plan accepts them. Check your provider's instructions before changing routing. Replace NUMBER with a destination you control or have permission to use; do not type the word NUMBER or any spaces.

SituationCheck statusRegister destinationErase this divert
All calls*#21#**21*NUMBER###21#
No answer*#61#**61*NUMBER###61#
Unreachable*#62#**62*NUMBER###62#
Busy*#67#**67*NUMBER###67#

On a supporting mobile service, enter the command in the Phone app, select the relevant SIM and press Call. Read the network response. An accepted command should still be checked with a test call from another phone. The standard distinguishes deactivation with a single leading hash from erasing a stored registration with two; the table lists erasure.

How to turn call forwarding off

If every incoming call is being diverted, use the phone's Call Forwarding switch or the provider's cancellation method. To remove an unanswered or busy divert, choose that specific condition. Cancelling a conditional divert can stop those calls reaching voicemail.

##002# targets all forwarding registrations. Use it only when your provider has confirmed that removing all destinations is the intended action and you know how to restore voicemail. It does not remove spyware or reset the handset.

iPhone settings

Open Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Forwarding. On older iOS versions, Phone may be directly in Settings. Where shown, choose the line, enable forwarding and enter the intended destination. Turn the switch off to disable that setting. Conditional forwarding may require your network's help even when the all-calls switch is available.

Android and Samsung settings

Start in the Phone app > menu > Settings. Look for Calling accounts, Supplementary services or Call forwarding; wording varies. Choose your SIM and the required condition. If the menu cannot retrieve the settings, ask the provider to check the account rather than repeatedly entering different codes.

Charges and UK network differences

EE Small Business says calls diverted to another UK number use the plan's applicable call rate or allowance. Out-of-allowance destinations and roaming can incur charges. Check the same questions with O2, Vodafone, Three or your reseller: does your particular plan support forwarding, which destinations are allowed, and how is the onward call charged?

Do not apply these mobile instructions to a hosted office system or digital landline. Those services have their own routing controls. For an office needing business hours, ring groups and several answering destinations, compare business VoIP and confirm the routing features with your supplier.

Verify the result

Test each condition you changed. Check that the right phone rings, unanswered calls reach the intended mailbox and the original mobile behaves as expected once the divert is removed. Keep the agreed routing details with the business account record.

Frequently asked questions

Does call forwarding also forward texts?

Ordinary mobile call forwarding redirects calls. SMS and app messages have separate delivery and forwarding controls.

Why does *#62# show a number I do not recognise?

It may be a network voicemail destination. Ask your provider to identify it before changing it; its presence alone does not establish wrongdoing.

Why is my call-divert code not working?

The selected SIM, handset, account provisioning or provider may not support that command. Use the settings route, check service and ask the provider to confirm the correct method.
