The “This data plan can no longer be added to your iPhone” error usually means the eSIM profile has already been downloaded or there’s a conflict.
Causes
- QR code already used — each code is single-use
- Too many eSIM profiles — iPhones can store up to 8 eSIM profiles (varies by model)
- Network restriction — your carrier may not support eSIM on your plan
- iOS needs updating
How to Fix
- Check if the eSIM is already installed — go to Settings > Mobile Service and look for the plan
- Remove unused eSIM profiles — if you have old/unused eSIMs, delete them to free space
- Update iOS — Settings > General > Software Update
- Reset network settings — Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings
- Contact your provider — ask them to reissue the eSIM QR code
