Mobile Hotspot turns your Samsung Galaxy S24 into a portable Wi-Fi access point, sharing your mobile data with laptops, tablets, and other devices. Ideal for working remotely or when office broadband is down.
Turn On Mobile Hotspot
Steps
- Open Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
- Toggle Mobile Hotspot to on
- Tap Mobile Hotspot to view the network name and password
- On the device you want to connect, open Wi-Fi and select your Galaxy S24’s hotspot name
- Enter the password and connect
Quick access from Quick Settings
- Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
- Tap the Mobile Hotspot tile to toggle on
Turn Off Mobile Hotspot
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
- Toggle Mobile Hotspot to off
Tip: Tap Mobile Hotspot to change the network name and password. Use a strong password to prevent unauthorised access. You can also set a timeout to auto-disable the hotspot when no devices are connected.
Hotspot Not Working?
- Check your plan — some plans restrict hotspot usage or cap tethering data
- Toggle mobile data off and on
- Restart your Galaxy S24
- Reset network settings — Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings
- Update software — Settings > Software Update to ensure you have the latest fixes
Data usage warning: Hotspot usage draws from your mobile data allowance. Video calls and streaming use significant data. Set a data limit under Settings > Connections > Data Usage to avoid overages.
