Mobile data lets your iPhone 15 / 15 Pro access the internet when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi. Here’s how to turn it on or off, and how to manage data usage for individual apps.

Turn Mobile Data On or Off

From Settings

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Mobile Service (or Cellular)
  3. Toggle Mobile Data on or off

From Control Centre (quick toggle)

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen
  2. Tap the mobile data icon (antenna symbol) to toggle on or off
  3. Green = on, grey = off

Control Data Usage Per App

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile Service
  2. Scroll down to see a list of apps with data usage
  3. Toggle off any app you want to restrict from using mobile data
Tip: Turn off mobile data for apps like iCloud Photos, software updates, and streaming services to avoid burning through your allowance when away from Wi-Fi.

Mobile Data Not Working?

Important: If you’re abroad, you’ll also need Data Roaming enabled. Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options > Data Roaming. Check your plan’s roaming charges first.
