If iMessage isn’t sending or receiving after installing an eSIM, it’s usually because iMessage is still linked to your old SIM or line.
How to Fix
- Go to Settings > Messages
- Tap iMessage to turn it off
- Wait 30 seconds
- Turn iMessage back on
- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
- Make sure your new eSIM phone number is checked
- Set it as “Start new conversations from”
SMS/MMS Not Working
- Go to Settings > Mobile Service
- Tap your eSIM line
- Ensure it’s set as the default line for messages
- Toggle Airplane Mode on and off
- If still not working, reset network settings

The same fix applies — go to Settings > FaceTime, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, turn back on, and check the correct number is selected.
