Voicemail lets callers leave a message when you can’t answer. Your iPhone 16 / 16 Pro has Visual Voicemail built in, which shows a list of messages directly in the Phone app.

Set Up Visual Voicemail

Steps

  1. Open the Phone app
  2. Tap Voicemail at the bottom right
  3. Tap Set Up Now
  4. Create a voicemail password (write it down — you’ll need it later)
  5. Choose Default or Custom greeting
  6. If Custom, record your greeting and tap Save
Business tip: Record a professional custom greeting with your name and company. Example: “Hi, you’ve reached [Name] at [Company]. I’m unable to take your call. Please leave a message and I’ll get back to you.”

Check Voicemail Manually

If Visual Voicemail isn’t available, you can call your voicemail directly:

O2901
Three123

Voicemail Not Working?

Note: Visual Voicemail is supported on EE, Vodafone, O2, and Three. If your business uses a virtual number or VoIP overlay, voicemail may be handled separately by that service.
