Need to check which mobile network your iPhone 16 / 16 Pro is connected to? This is useful for verifying your SIM or eSIM is registered correctly, or when troubleshooting coverage issues.
Check Your Network (Quick Method)
Steps
- Open Settings
- Tap Mobile Service (or Cellular)
- Your current network is shown at the top under Network (e.g. “EE”, “Vodafone UK”, “O2 - UK”, “Three”)
Check Network via Field Test Mode
- Open the Phone app
- Dial *3001#12345#* and tap Call
- This opens Field Test Mode showing detailed network info including the operator, band, signal strength, and cell ID
View Network Operator Settings
- Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Network Selection
- If Automatic is on, your iPhone 16 is connected to your primary network
- Toggle Automatic off to see all available networks in your area
- Turn Automatic back on when you’re done
Tip: If your status bar shows your network name (e.g. “EE” or “O2”), you’re connected. If it shows “No Service” or “Searching”, there may be a coverage or SIM issue.
Network codes: In manual selection, networks may appear as numbers: 23410 = O2, 23415 = Vodafone, 23420 = Three, 23430 = EE.
Important: If you see a different network name than expected (e.g. you’re on EE but it shows Vodafone), toggle Airplane Mode on and off to force reconnection. If it persists, your SIM may not be activated correctly.
