Change Your Phone Number Display on iPhone

After switching SIM or provider, your iPhone may still display your old phone number. Here’s how to update it.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Phone > My Number
  2. Tap the number field and delete the old number
  3. Enter your new number (include country code, e.g. +44)
  4. Tap Save

If “My Number” Is Greyed Out

This happens with some eSIM configurations. Try:

Tip: The number shown in Settings is just a display label — it doesn’t affect your actual phone number. Your real number is determined by your SIM/eSIM, not the settings field.
