After switching SIM or provider, your iPhone may still display your old phone number. Here’s how to update it.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Phone > My Number
- Tap the number field and delete the old number
- Enter your new number (include country code, e.g. +44)
- Tap Save
If “My Number” Is Greyed Out
This happens with some eSIM configurations. Try:
- Restart your iPhone
- Go to Settings > Mobile Service, tap your line, and check the number shown
- If still wrong, toggle Airplane Mode on and off — the network should push the correct number
Tip: The number shown in Settings is just a display label — it doesn’t affect your actual phone number. Your real number is determined by your SIM/eSIM, not the settings field.
